I’d recommend not reading the books out of order, especially not book 2 before book 1, because book 2 contains a huge spoiler about the mystery that gets solved in book 1. Hang in there – I hope book 1 will come soon!

Is it necessary to read the Millenium trilogy in order? I am on the reservation list at the library, and book 2 came in before book 1. Does one book follow the other, or is it ok to read them out of order? Thanks!!!

Loved the Millenium trilogy! I often don’t read books from a series back to back though. I had The Girl who Played with Fire on my shelf when I finished Tattoo, but I still waited about 3 months to read it. I have great self control

Too funny! I try to avoid series books but don’t have any hardfast rules about them. Truthfully, I never ever seem to get to the second book even when I loved the first.

Yes, I have a rule never to pay full price for a NOVEL (okay for tech or non-fiction, but never a novel!) Had friends who kept nagging me to read Dragon Tattoo. Finally I reluctantly ordered the first 2 books (didn’t sound like my kind of mystery, but LOVE mysteries). Got Played w/ Fire first and couldn’t put it down. Finished early in the morning. Next day went to the store as soon as it opened and paid full price for Hornets’ Nest and read it that day. They are all terrific. I’ve already read each twice (in 2 weeks).
