June and July Giftaway

by Belle on June 4, 2009

It’s time again for the monthly Giftaway here at Ms. Bookish. This time around, the time period for this Giftaway will run from June 1 to July 15, because I’ll be on holidays right around the end of the month and while I will have Internet access and expect to keep blogging, it makes more sense to end the Giftaway when I’m back home and have access to the books to ship out.

I’ve also made one change to how the Giftaway will work. Each comment you make will qualify as a separate entry. I confess, I’m doing this to make it more convenient for me, because last month I had to keep checking to make sure I wasn’t inputting any duplicate entries into my spreadsheet. So this time around, multiple entries are possible!

So, what is a Giftaway? It’s my version of a book giveaway, a celebration of all the wonderful readers who make comments here at Ms. Bookish. I enjoy each and every one of your comments, and the purpose of this Giftaway is to show my appreciation for all you.

How does it work? To be entered into this month’s Giftaway, simply make a comment on any post here at MsBookish.com anytime between June 1 and July 15. Each time you make a comment, I’ll put your name into a hat (actually, a spreadsheet), so each comment counts as a separate entry. On July 15, I will pull one name out of the hat (actually, Random.org).

What’s the gift? The winner will get his or her choice of books from my Giftaway Book Shelf (the list will be updated throughout each month so check back regularly for additions). Winners get to choose FIVE books from the Giftaway Shelf if their mailing address is in the U.S. or Canada, and TWO books if their mailing address is outside of the U.S. or Canada. Shipping to the U.S. and Canada will be via UPS Standard. Shipping outside of the U.S. or Canada will be via surface or ground mail, but I will check and if airmail is not significantly more than surface or ground, I will send via airmail.

Some restrictions: In order to win, you must be 18 years of age or older. Void in Quebec and any other locations where such events are prohibited by law. Only approved comments are valid (this just means spam comments are not included).

**********************************

Congratulations to last month’s winner, Anna from Diary of an Eccentric. Anna has made her selections; I will be sending her the following books:

The Sky is Falling, by Kit Pearson

Dancing Naked at the Edge of Dawn, by Kris Radish

Paging Aphrodite, by Kim Green

The Same Sweet Girls, by Cassandra King

The Riddles of Epsilon, by Christine Morton-Shaw

(Note: books linked to may not necessarily be the same edition)

I just wanted to tell you that it is much appreciated that you are willing to ship books to Europe at all :)

My latest competition was won by an American, and the funny thing was that it cost 74 kroner to send it by ground mail, and 76 kroner to use air mail (the difference being 30-40 cents) so I chose the air mail.

Thanks, Debbie!

Dorte, that is a great observation. I’ve revised my post to say that I will send by airmail if it’s not significantly more than surface/ground.

Thanks so much for this. I comment a lot, so I’ll definitely be entered! I too like to open my giveaways up to non-North Americans. They get rooked out of a lot of good chances.
