I know I've said it once before, but I really do need to take a page from the Book of Belle and start setting down some firm writing goals and then stick to them. Even though you didn't meet your word count quota for the day or yesterday, it's still inspiring to hear that you made your writing a priority for the day.

Sometimes I find myself stuck...I have the scene in my head, I know what I want to happen, and I'm in some world of bliss, but I just can't bring myself to pick up a pencil and write it down--like it will spoil the moment somehow. LOL

Ever have days like that?

I love the idea of your daily word count commitment. I think I will start a 'write first' rule for myself as well. Good Luck!

Good plan! Stick to it, writer!
Today I had a message from one of the other participants in my writing course. She suggested we should read each others´ crime manuscripts. It sounds very useful - I am much better at living up to other people´s expectations than just writing for my own sake.

If I've got a nutty schedule, sometimes the word count works better as a goal for me (because my writing time is coming in scattered bits and pieces through the day. Hard to add up.)

Good luck with your goals.

In my experience, setting a goal is about 75% of the battle. I don't see any reason why you can't finish in a timely manner.

At least I hope so -- that puts us closer to reading it, too!
