Blogger business cards: do you use them?

Blogger business card

I’m not the most observant person around, but ever since I started using Instagram more, I’ve been seeing glimpses of what look like book blogger business cards.

I never even thought about getting a business card for blog use, until I saw these!

So my question to you is: do you use blogger business cards?

Okay, I lied. I have more than one question.

If you do have blogger business cards, when and how do you use them? Are they just handy for when you send snail mail to other bloggers? Is it to further brand your blog? Do you use them when you go to author events?

I’ve noticed, too, that the ones I’ve seen are often quite uniquely designed – nothing like the business cards I normally see in regular life.  Not having ordered business cards for a very, very long while (mainly because my business is mostly word-of-mouth), I feel rather out of the loop on this one. I love the gorgeous designs I’ve seen so far, but where do you go to get such great designs?

In the meantime, I’m filing this one in my Undecided folder, the one where I keep my “should I have a Facebook page?” question.

An old neighbor of ours designed my blogger business cards. I use them in snail mail and when I go to bookish events. If you order them through Vistaprints or a place like that, they’re not very expensive.

I love Blogger Business Cards. I sometimes get them when I win a book from a blogger. But otherwise I don’t know what they are good for. I guess if you go to a huge bookish event it would be good to have them to pass out to people you are waiting in line with. Then they won’t forget you in the million of people they meet that day.

I won some blogger business cards in a giveaway. So far I’ve used maybe a dozen? I wouldn’t call them necessary, but they’re nice to have.

I’m not opposed to them but I can’t imagine when I would actually use them. I do occasionally go to author events but wouldn’t pass them out (just not me – I’m hopeless at that kind of thing and I’m not seriously trying to get squillions more readers for either of my blogs).

Besides, I just find business cards so ephemeral in my day job. If I do get one I throw it away immediately but mostly just exhange phone numbers/email addresses when necessary when meeting new work contacts, My own supply of business cards (forced on me by my boss) is out of date as far as my job title, the organisation name and logo…in fact anything but my email address goes but I refuse to get more printed as I give out about a dozen a year,

I had them with my old blog, back when I actually called myself a book blogger. Like Kathy, I used them at bookish events and blogger meetups. They were occasionally useful, and I think they’re cute when they mimic the blogger’s header or website look.

I have them but rarely use them, particularly because it can feel presumptuous. The odd request for my site link and otherwise just so people can have my email address. I do like having them, though, especially as I often have to spell out my site’s name.
