bookwormcarnival

MsBookish is hosting the 42nd Bookworms Carnival! The topic? One that is near and dear to my heart: comfort reads.

What are the books you turn to time and time again? The ones with which you love to snuggle up in your favorite armchair, steaming mug of hot chocolate or tea by your side? I’d love to hear about them!

If you have a review of a favorite comfort read, or a post talking about some of your favorite comfort reads, and why you love them, please send me your link to be included in this edition of the Bookworms Carnival.

Due to a few email glitches, this post is going up a little late – if you could spread the word about the Comfort Reads Bookworms Carnival, that would be great, too!

The current submission deadline for this edition of the Bookworms Carnival is November 27.

What a fun carnival topic! I must admit it’s easier for me to think of comfort foods than comfort reads, so I’ll be looking forward to seeing what other people suggest!

See below for link to my review of John Irving’s “The World According to Garp” at GoodReads, my own personal comfort read. I’m not much of a novel re-reader. Once is usually enough for me because there are so many other great books I want to get to. Garp is one of the rare exceptions that calls for return visits.

I think several of the tattered books on my shelf are comfort reads. Just to mention a few examples, I always love returning to Lord Peter Wimsey, Adam Dalglish, Inspector Morse … all my beloved old series, in fact.

Do you have a timeline for when the reviews have been posted? I can think of a couple of great comfort reads for me, but I’ve reviewed them awhile ago.

If not, that just gives me more reason to get these last couple of reviews up – they’re from my comfort series. ;P
